Elemis FreshSkin Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser

Hello everyone!
I've been doing a lot of skincare on the blog recently, so I hope you're not bored. I am definitely on a mission to find the perfect products for me at the moment. In that vein, I've been trying out the Elemis FreshSkin Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser (£20)* which I received in my Cosmo goody bag.

The packaging is alright - a squat and compact 50ml pump action. I do like that it comes with a pump so that you don't have to dip your fingers into your moisturiser, and it dispenses just the right amount.
FreshSkin is Elemis' range for teen to twenties skin, and so I was a little apprehensive (I do not remember the 'for teens' skincare stuff I used back in the day being particularly effective or gentle). In fact, I tried the Purifying Facial Wash from this range once before deciding never to use it again. As with all foaming cleansers I felt it stripped my skin of all moisture, leaving it 'squeaky clean' but also dry, tight and irritated.
So my hopes were not high for this moisturiser.
However, on balance, this worked pretty well for me. It may not be the perfect moisturiser for dry skin in winter as it is not hydrating enough - but I can see myself using this in warmer weather for sure, as it is lightweight and non-sticky. My skin didn't feel massively plumped up but it did seem smooth and soft.
This would work well, I imagine, for someone with oily skin who did not want to weigh down their skin with hyper hydrating moisturisers. It's light and simple and doesn't have an obnoxious scent, which is a plus.
However in the winter I think I want something a bit more heavy duty - although, if I'm wearing a BB cream, popping this underneath ensures I don't look like a very shiny lady for the whole day.

Have you tried any Elemis products? What are your thoughts on 'teen' skincare?

    1. Thank you! It might be the right time for it then, as more hydrating products work for me in winter.
