Next Golden Beauty Palette: Swatch & Review

Hey everyone!
Finally, I'm back. It's been a stress-filled couple of weeks, but I have been really missing blogging! I've not had much spare time but I have been active on Twitter and Instagram since I signed up for a new phone - you can follow me @seonaidbee on either of those platforms. Today I'll be reviewing the Next Golden Beauty Palette, £4*. By the way, you'll be seeing the little star (*) fairly frequently over the next couple of months - the Cosmo Blog Awards came with a very generous goody bag, for which I am grateful - but keep in mind I am always honest whether I buy something myself or not! Promise :)

The Next Golden Beauty Palette comes with four powder shadows and a lipgloss, as well as sponge tip and lip brush, in pretty flimsy cardboard packaging, which I don't like. I didn't have high expectations for this palette as I have never bought beauty from Next before. When I swatched it I was pleasantly surprised:
From top to bottom: the lipgloss, and shades Aztec, Bronze, Amber and White Gold.  The shades are a little chalky, especially White Gold, but they have a lovely satin-matte finish  and the three darker shade are fairly smooth and lovely colours. The lipgloss isn't my favourite but if you like golden shades it might be for you!

Here it is on my eyes - it lasted about four hours without fading, without primer.. Here I am wearing White Gold  on my (badly in need of threading) browbone, Bronze on the lid, Amber in the crease and Aztec on the outer corner. These are very easy to blend and apply. I am also wearing Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Rockstar on the waterline.
What do you think? Have you ever tried Next makeup? I was pleasantly surprised, and it's a bargain too!

  2. Ohh is this a UK only brand? (probably because you guys always get the best brands!)

Not a fan of the bronze-y lip gloss color, but the eyeshadow "Aztec" is so beautiful, I'm a sucker for dark browns! Would even make a nice brow shade for dark haired beauties.

Excited to have you back haha :)
