Hello everyone!
I hope you are enjoying my first (terrible) nail posts of the 15 Day Challenge. Try not to laugh too much at how bad a grown woman can be at painting her nails!
Anyway, a little late; here's my July Favourites.
| Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow Birthday Suit; Real Techniques Blush Brush; Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Crush; MAC Blush Pink Swoon; Sephora Bronzing Powder Light |

So, not a huge amount of favourites this month - my makeup has been pretty on-the-go with my new job having a few early starts!
1. Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Birthday Suit (£14): Here's my original post on this. This has popped up in my favourites a few times, so suffice to say it's an easy-to-apply, flattering neutral golden bronze that stays put all day. Effortless.
2. Real Techniques Blush Brush (£9.99): Here's my original post on this. I'd been using this as a blush brush for ages, but this month I've mostly been using it with my other favourite, the Sephora Bronzer, and I think it works far better as a bronzing brush. It distributes enough colour over the cheekbones, temples and nose, without densely packing it on. It's perhaps to large and fluffy for a blush brush (unless you are using super pigmented blushes) but it works perfectly for adding a hint of bronze.
Any blush brush recommendations?
3. Sephora Bronzing Powder in Light (13,50€): Here's my original post on this. I got this in Paris, and can only find it on the French Sephora website, which is a bummer. Although I can't purchase anything from the US website either! Anyway, you get such a huge pan of product this is sure to last me a while. I don't claim to be an expert in bronzers as I usually embrace the pale, but this summer I've managed to acquire a tiny bit of colour, and also I've been favouring the natural, less-makeup look. This means that a BB cream, sweep on cream eyeshadow, touch of bronzer, brow pencil and mascara are what I've been wearing most days.
In my original post I didn't like this too much, but I was attempting to use it as a contour! As a bronzer it's light, non-muddy and brings a warmth to the face. Great for pale girls with yellow tones like myself.
4. MAC Blush in Pink Swoon (£17.50): Here's my original post on this. After dusting on my bronzer, I will sometimes sweep a little blush on the apples of my cheeks and down my nose, to add a natural flush. To keep this from looking like sunburn, I use a sheer blush like Pink Swoon sparingly, and this colour has been great. It's a lovely clear, neutral pink.
5. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush (£5.99 on offer in Boots): Here's my very recent post on these balm stains. You may remember then that I said Crush was my favourite, and that has not changed. These are lovely balms; long-lasting, pigmented, they fade evenly and don't dry out my lips. I've been using this one rather a lot.
What are your favourites this month?

Beautiful favourites and making me want to own all these things! Thankfully I own the blush brush so that's one thing I wont have to run out and buy!
ReplyDeleteI've just posted my July favourites too if you fancy a browse :)

Thanks very much! Just checked out your favourites - very nice! I want a Clarins Lip Balm now. Haha! :)

It's so good!! Let me know if you end up getting it! x
DeleteThat bronzer looks like a great one, I wish Sephora would move into the UK x
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely - it just sucks they aren't in the UK. I understand they used to have a London store then closed it (no idea why!) They should at least offer international shipping!

I like the Ecotools blush brush :) I also like the Real Techniques Multi Task brush for blush, or the stippling brush. I love the RT blush brush but I agree that it's on the large side. I've not tried it for all over bronzer but I'm sure it would serve that purpose really well. I love the look of Birthday Suit, such a pretty everyday shade - very effortless and ultra wearable :)
ReplyDeleteI will have to go look for the Ecotools brush then - so far I've been seeing packs of them in sets but no individuals. It is just a little too large for blush, I think. Not terrible, but I'm still searching for the perfect one!
DeleteIt's lovely, I think it would be right up your street actually. Do they sell benefit in Australia? Or is it mad expensive?

I agree, I like the Ecotools blush brush as well. :) I like the look of that bronzer - it's not too dark and not too orange! xx
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out Ecotools then! It looks pretty orange heavily swatched but it really is light on me! I love it- thank goodness there's a lot of it!

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows are my favorites! I love birthday suit the best though!

maybe we could follow eachother? :)
They are so awesome, right?

Gorgeous post - makes me want to purchase everything! I keep hearing such good things about the real techniques blush brush though, so it's top of the list x

I've been using the same benefit cream shadow like everyday as well. I use it underneath a taupe/brown shadow. Sometimes on the weekend I'll wear it alone too. They really make great cream shadows.

That sounds awesome - I wear a lot of taupes too, sounds like we have similar taste!

I love that brush, I love Benefit creaseless shadow, and I have just got some Revlon just bitten lip balms and I love them... I agree with you on these products, I might have to start trying some of the other products you have listed, since we have similar taste!

I see you just got a bunch of Real Techniques brushes! Awesome! So glad we have the same taste! :)

I really love affordable makeup brushes--I'm a firm believer that you don't have to pay $100 for a good blush brush. I use a lot of Sonia Kashuk--ecoTools is good too! I've been wanting to try Real Techniques for a while now, but as I don't have an Ulta within 10 minutes of my place (I get real lazy sometimes and hate to drive 25 minutes to pick up a blush brush :P), I haven't had a chance yet. Soon though, hopefully!
ReplyDeleteTrue! I want to try out Sonia Kashuk too, but obviously in the UK we don't even have Target! I'm definitely going to be checking out Ecotools brushes now. I'm a fan of finding what works for you - for example, I love my MAC brushes (al three of them) but I also love a couple of my Crown and RT brushes. I used to use a £1 eyelash curler that didn't curl my lashes and occasionally ripped them out, now I use a ridiculously expensive Shu Uemura one, but it works better. I think it's probably trial and error. Hope you get a chance to try out RT soon!

Oh Seonaid, how much I love you for turning me onto the Crush Balm Stain haha! I would've never thought to go for that shade but I couldn't stop thinking about it after your guest post on my blog. I'm lusting after Real Techniques brushes SO much, I'm jealous they're so accessible to you guys over in the UK. I know you can grab them at ULTA, but sadly there are none near me. I should just place an online order and get them ALL, but the sticker shock is keeping me from doing so ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I am a bad influence! Glad you like it too! It sucks that you can only get RT brushes at ULTA, as I know ULTAs are not as widespread as Targets or Sephoras. If it helps any, I'm jealous of all the amazing drugstore makeup available in the US too ;)

I want to try Revlon lip stain. Think would be similar to Clinque's chubby stick. I'm loving Clinque's chubby stick but there is very limited color in Asia.
ReplyDeletePeople have been comparing them to Clinique Chubby Sticks but I have never tried them. It's a shame that there is a limited shade range; they should release the same colours worldwide!
