Hey everyone!
By now you probably know that I am participating in Makeup Savvy's 15 Day Nail Challenge. If you would like to see day's one and two, click here. Today is day 3, and the theme is 'Chic'. Now, as I have whinged on about at length, my nails are in terrible condition. Since starting this challenge I have been trying very hard to make them look better. I have been trying to push back my cuticles, but it looks like I've had little success. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I'm soaking my hands first and pushing back with a cuticle stick!
Anyway all this to say that I do not have the most 'chic' nails, but I went ahead and picked a colour I thought was quite nice and painted them anyway.
The colour is Barry M's Peach Melba (£2.99). I adore this colour, although with my bottle of it the consistency is not great - it's a little gloopy. However I painted my nails as best I could, did a little bit of cleanup and here they are. I promise, from far away they look good ;)!
Do you like pastel polishes? Have you tried Barry M polishes before?

Nice color

Thank you!

I was having the same trouble but I bought a cuticle removing gel and it works wonders! You just gloop a bit on and wait 2 minutes and then wash off with warm soapy water. After that you can push them back to your hearts content! Lovely colour, one of my favourites x
ReplyDeleteI'll give that a go - thanks for the tip! :)

I'm just about to post my entry now :o)
ReplyDeleteI've never been one for having huge cuticles, but now and again I do use a cuticle oil (I use a Mavala one, but I'm thinking any old oil even olive would do??), massage it in, then gently push the buggers back with a hoof type thing!
I love the colour x
:) I'll have a try! Thanks for the advice! Thank you :)

It is, haha! And my nails don't look anywhere near as good as everyone elses! I guess I've neglected them for too long :P

Very pretty x I had a gloopy problem with my Barry M today too! Regarding cuticles, I never have a clue how people remove them properly, I can never seem to do it right anyway. Looking forward to galaxies tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Me too - I can't wait to see everyone's galaxy nails!

ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much! That makes me so happy :D

I love that colour and have a similar one, but it doesn't match my skin tone. I had some polishes that are gloopy too, I use them as decorative colours instead. But I'm thinking using it for gradient manicures should hide its gloopiness ;)
ReplyDeleteNails grow quite fast, so I wouldn't bother so much in pushing the cuticles back. I'd just be patient and wait till they grow to a good length to reshape them. Ah, but I think you might wanna moisturize them instead. I used Sally Hansen's Moisturizing Nails and Cuticle Oil to massage my cuticles to keep them moisturized when they get too dry.
Aww that sucks! That's a good idea - I might use this for layering in another day's challenge!
DeleteOk - I'll keep that in mind. I've been using Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter and I think that's helping! Fingers crossed anyway!

Love this colour :) Makes for a nice, summery take on "chic" :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! It does feel quite summery :)

This is such a pretty colour! Peachy pink but not neon, it's more on the softer side. Your nails look pretty good to me :)
