Day 2 of Makeup Savvy's 15 Day Nail Challenge, and today's theme is Pattern. When I saw this theme I cringed - I am (so far) pretty crap at nail art and a steady hand is not my strong suit. So, instead of going geometric (which looks shoddy on my nails anyway, being as they are all different lengths and shapes at the moment) I went abstract, and used a bunch of colours in feathery stripes. I actually quite like it, even if it does look poorly done!
For a base, I used Model's Own Lilac Dream (£5), one of my favourite polishes and a one-coater. I used Models Own/WAH Nail Art Pen in Yellow (£6) and Topshop Nail Art Pens in Barbarella and Visionary (£6.50 each) for the stripes. All were easy to use, although I'd recommend cleaning the nail art pens with polish remover afterwards so that dried polish doesn't plug them up.
