Hey everyone!
Thanks for being so patient with me the past couple of days - after the awesomeness that was the Cosmo Blog Awards Shortlist announcement - you can vote for me here - I had a couple busy days at work, and I'm currently typing this as I head off to see The Dark Knight Rises!
I also received a package in the mail from a friend in New York yesterday containing some specially requested Wet N' Wild Eyeshadows. Three Colour Icon Trios, to be exact. I'll be swatching and reviewing them all, starting today with Walking on Eggshells, which UK buyers can get for just over £3 on ebay. US readers can get 'em here for $2.99 and I know a few Australian websites sell them for insane markups. If you are lucky someone might post them to you from the states.
Here are the three I got. Awesome right? You'll see I picked neutrals and golds, and then went a bit unusual for me and got some blues too.
I kind of like the packaging - it's not high end by any means but I like the little embossed instructions - although I wouldn't necessarily follow them. The embossed bits rub off pretty easily.
Walking on Eggshells contains a light, slightly rose tinted gold as the 'eyelid' colour, a mid toned brown shimmer as the 'crease' colour' and a beautiful white shimmer as the 'browbone' colour. All three shades were soft and pigmented, if a little crumbly. They were easy to apply, as well. I love this trio's combination of colours and used them as instructed. Over a primer I'd say they last pretty well, although I wasn't counting the minutes. Not nearly as long-lasting as say, Maybelline's Color Tattoos, but at least as good as MUA or Sleek shadows.
Here I just used a light application of the three colours - the eyelid shade all over the lid, the crease colour in the crease and under the eye, and the browbone colour on the browbone and inner corner. It photographed less well than I'd hoped but provides a lovely hint of neutral colour that works well for everyday.
Also, please excuse my eyebrows.
All these colours would work well within my existing collection, and I especially love the addition of a rose gold colour, as it's very pretty and works well with the brown shimmer.
What do you think? Have you tried any of these shadows before?
Don't forget, you can vote for me here, under 'Best New Beauty Blog', in the Cosmo Blog Awards. It really would mean a lot.
