Spring Picks Series: Top 5 Spring Nail Polishes

Hey everyone!
Sorry for being such a terrible blogger - this week is my last week of University so things have been a bit hectic! I promise I'll try harder!
Today I'm doing the first of three-part Spring Picks series, showing you my top 5 spring nail polishes. First though, a word of warning: you know why I never do NOTDS? Because I have awful nails! Seriously, they are so weak and fan-shaped. For my mum's wedding I think I'm going to have to get (short, rounded) acrylics, and maybe use falsies from now on. What do you think? Anyone got acrylics experience they can share?
Anyway, here are my picks, please excuse my nails!

No7 Tangy; Revlon Sweet Tart; Models Own Lilac Dream; Barry M Blue Moon; Barry M Peach Melba

Barry M Blue Moon; Models Own Lilac Dream; Revlon Sweet Tart; No7 Tangy

Barry M Peach Melba

1. Barry M Blue Moon (£2.99) is a lovely pale, milky pastel blue. This was one of the easiest to apply of the nail polishes, although it takes three coats to become opaque.

2.Models Own Lilac Dream (£5) is one of my favourite polishes ever! Opaque in one or two coats, creamy, and dries quickly. Plus it's a lovely pastel lilac.

3. Revlon Sweet Tart (£3.45 on eBay) is a bright, fun true pink. I think it's the perfect pop of bright colour that would work well spring-to-summer. Also, Revlon polishes apply amazingly well, and they are so easy to get hold of at discount prices online.

4. No7 Tangy (£7) is a bright, red leaning hot orange. Again this would work as a spring-summer transitional colour, although I think oranges and corals are great for this spring. It dries fast and applies well, although the brush is too large for me - it involved a lot of cleanup!

5. Barry M Peach Melba (£2.99) is a lovely coral peach that I keep trying to work with because it applies on me so badly. It might just be a dud bottle, but mine is thick and gloopy. However, I really love this colour, so I might just add a few drops of thinner to this. And it's cheap so I don't mind!

Have you got any favourite polishes for spring to recommend? What do you think of these?
Keep an eye out for my next two instalments of Spring Picks, and also don't forget that you can now follow me on Facebook - I'm thinking of doing a little giveaway there soon, when I'm done with coursework, so keep checking!

I have a beautyUK polish, im wearing at the moment, which looks pretty similar to No7 Tangy. Orly's ancient jade has to be my favourite spring polish though. x

    1. Haha! I've seen swatches of Orly Ancient Jade online and it looks gorgeous! I might have to get hold of it. I wish I had lovely manicured nails like most bloggers but can't seem to keep them growing for any amount of time :(

    1. Thank you! You should - it's cheap enough that if you don't get on with it, it's alright!
So glad! I love them too - glad I'm not the only one, they are so brilliant :D

  4. I love nail varnishes so much, they're such a fab way to wear some colour if you're a neutral lover/teenage goth like me! I love Peach Melba, it's such a subtle and pretty colour. I haven't had any problems though in terms of it being a thick polish so maybe it is your bottle? Hope uni is okay :) ! x

    1. Haha! I have to admit that in my goth days I owned one nail polish, and it was black. But then I also painted my face white almost every day so perhaps I wasn't the most tasteful in terms of makeup anyway!
Peach Melba is such a lovely colour - I'll have to add some nail polish thinner to it as I'm sure it's just my bottle :)
Uni will be fine (fingers crossed) two days until my last assessment so keep the good vibes coming! :p

    2. Haha I'm not a proper goth I just seem to struggle to wear much colour which annoys my boyfriend so much - I'm always worried it will clash with my hair! If I want to take the look any further I may try the white face, maybe you could do a tutorial? ;) I handed in my last essay today yipee! (Trying to forget I have exams haha) xx

    3. Haha, I doubt it - it was very badly applied, I assure you! Congratulations, and good luck with your exams when they do come!

    1. I wish I had more OPI - I have Meep-Meep-Meep and Do Ya Think I'm Texy? But I've heard so many great things about their polishes - I might go get a pastel!
