Matte Lipstick Series: Best Drugstore/ High Street Matte Lipsticks!

Hi everyone!
My matte lipstick series has come to a close! I hope it was helpful to you. I'll post the links to every review I did for the series here, and then announce my favourites of the series. Enjoy!
Also - just because I picked some best lipsticks and one worst lipstick doesn't mean I hated or loved the others - click on the links to see the full reviews if you are wondering why I didn't include them in my top three!

The Series:
Part 1 - Revlon Matte Lipstick in Mauve it Over
Part 2 - No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in Cherry
Part 3 - Collection 2000 Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream in Cotton Candy
Part 4 - Rimmel Colour Show Off Lipstick in Kiss Me
Part 5 - Sleek Matte Lipstick in Heartbreaker
Part 6 - NYX Matte Lipstick in Tea Rose
Part 7 - NYX Matte Lip Cream in Amsterdam
Part 8 - Barry M Lip Paint in 145 Punky Pink
Part 9 - E.L.F Studio Matte Lip Colour in Praline
Part 10 - Topshop Lipstick in Brighton Rock

The Best Overall Drugstore Matte Lipsticks
Judged by consistency, finish, value for money, colour range and long-lastingness.

Gold - Revlon Matte Lipstick  (£7.49)

Great packaging, fabulous formula, proper matte finish and long wear time. Mauve it Over is a great colour and they do six others – I just wish they had a more expansive range. The least drying of all I tried.

Silver - NYX Matte Lipstick (£5.50)

This very nearly beat out the Revlon Matte Lipstick. The colour range far surpasses any other drugstore or high street brand, so if you are looking for a specific colour of to collect mattes then this is the one for you. Revlon just beat it out in terms of quality of formula and packaging. Didn’t feel dry at all.

Bronze - No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick (£10.00)
Came last because it’s so expensive – and because of the sharp edge to the lipstick. But the formula is great – creamy and smooth, it’s very pigmented and very long lasting. A little drying, but not as bad as some others.

The Best Drugstore Matte Lip Cream

Out of the two matte lip creams I tried this was by far the most pigmented and long lasting. It also has a great colour range (as does the NYX Matte Lipstick, see above). The Collection 2000 is nice for a subtle muted colour but it doesn’t last long and there are only 4 colours to choose from.

The Worst Overall Drugstore Matte Lipstick

Drying, dragged on my lips, and accentuated any fine lines or dryness on my lips. Even for the price I was disappointed.

So, I hope that helps! Do any of you agree or disagree? Feel free to leave opinions and suggestions in the comments - I really do enjoy hearing them!

    1. I know some other people have liked them but they just did nothing for me! And when there are other, affordable matte lipsticks out there just as affordable it makes no sense! Glad to be helpful! S xx

  5. You really make it appear so easy together with your
presentation however I find this matter to be really one
thing that I feel I'd never understand. It seems too complex and extremely huge for me. I'm looking forward in your next put up, I
will attempt to get the grasp of it!
