Lovely Lipstick: Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Fascinante.

I was in Debenhams picking up a birthday present from a friend when I saw that the new Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipsticks (£23.50 at Debenhams although they are out of stock on the website) were in stock! I got very excited and the lovely saleslady sat me down to try this colour on. I chose La Fascinante, the colour that the model is wearing in the promotional pictures.

One thing that is consistently great about Chanel products is the beautiful packaging. This lipstick push-clicks out from the black case, which makes it feel sleek and sophisticated.
I really, really love this colour. I'd been looking for a good matte lipstick for a while and this is perfect. La Fascinante is a gorgeous, matte deep red colour with maybe a little neutral undertone. It's infinitely wearable and will probably suit the majority of skin tones.
The finish is definitely velvety and totally matte, and it applies softly and intensely - the colour is very pigmented. I had to wear a liner with this, less because it leaks and more because the colour is so intense that any mistakes were incredibly obvious. It's also long-lasting - I had it applied in store in the morning and it lasted through class and the library. A good 6 hours or more.
Of course, this lipstick is expensive and I normally don't go near the Chanel counter for fear of being tempted into my overdraft, but I had a little extra pay this week and had been eyeing these lipsticks for a while.
