Hey guys!
Sorry I've been so absent this past week but Uni all kicked off at the same time as my work hours upped to 23 a week. But I have a lot of fun stuff planned for the next week, including announcing a giveaway next Monday. I'd do it sooner so as not to hype it too much, but I want to review some things fast. And i have a new look to show you:
My hair is no longer red! I am, in a way, sad to see it go. I'd had red hair for over a year ( a long time to stick to a colour for me) and I loved it. However, upkeep was a nightmare. Red dye fades so quickly that I was dying it at home every couple of weeks - and turning all my towels pink.
So I went ombre. It was a bit of a laborious process - I went to a salon for a trim and to get it coloured brown but turned out a brown so dark it looked black. It was not flattering to my skin tone. So I used a newish product called Colour B4 (£12.25 at Boots). It took the dark colour out of my hair almost entirely without drying it out hardly at all. I'd really recommend it to correct dye mistakes. However, because I had red tones underneath, it left my hair a little brassy. So I covered the colour with Nice N Easy Permanent Hair Colour in Light Ash Blonde (£5.61 at Boots) to get rid of the brassiness. It took out a lot of the red tones and made it a warm brown. Then, to ombre it, I used a Garnier Nutrisse Creme Multi Lights in Kit 1 ( I linked to it, but couldn't find it on the Boots website. That's where I got it though.) Because I felt it would be less drying than a straight bleach, I used this kit. Instead of using the brush that came with it, I used the spatula. I applied it roughly, rubbing my hair between my hands from where I wanted the ombre to begin. Then I applied it more heavily and thickly to the tips. That way, I had a fade-out effect. Here's another view:
All in all, I think it turned out quite well although I wouldn't rule out a more intense ombre at some point in the future. What do you think?

The ombre hair looks pretty on you! & I envy how you can wear red lipsticks effortlessly!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I think you'd look awesome in red lipstick. I was afraid of it at first (tiny lips!) but now I think it's hard to not wear it.
